In this art box, children will discover the art of Paul Cézanne and use his work as inspiration as they create four unique pieces of art. To start, kids will read about Cézanne's life and see how his pioneering approach to color and form heavily influenced post-Impressionist art. Then they’ll try Cézanne's techniques for themselves! Each project encourages young artists to practice building color and drawing forms like Cézanne did.
They’ll recreate Cézanne’s captivating still lifes using crayons, paints, textured backgrounds, clay, and more. They’ll also get inspired by one of Cézanne’s landscapes and use a layer-by-layer approach to turn the painting into a 3D masterpiece!

Textured Still-Life Paintings
Young artists will kick off this art box by practicing Cézanne's most famous type of painting. They'll step into the world of still lifes by copying an existing drawing and using textured backgrounds as they add color to it.
