This art box takes a closer look at the paintings of Anna Boch and the two styles she used: Impressionism and Pointillism.
Kids will start by reading a biography of Anna Boch, learning about her connections in the art world, and studying a few of her most important pieces. Then, they'll get to practice Boch’s two distinct art styles in four colorful projects. They'll design an abstract background by using a water-based technique to print chalk onto paper. Then they’ll create the dots of Pointillism in a variety of ways: with tissue paper, a hole puncher, cotton swabs, and bubble wrap! The final project is a 3D art piece inspired by the peaceful scenery of the Mediterranean coast.
